New postal regulations in Germany - DPD and Euroexpress circuit
On 1 January 2025, a new postal regulation for the safety of warehouse staff, couriers and logistics came into force in Germany.
The legislation requires that parcels exceeding 10 kg and 20 kg clearly display their weight for proper handling.
DPD circuit
DPD Germany, with the collaboration of Geopost, will comply with the new provisions by introducing an identification icon for the different weight categories directly on the label.
Icon for shipments over 10 kg
Icon for shipments over 20 kg
Fac-simile
DPD (Geolabel) labels printed by the International HUB and our customers (Direct Infeed service and Cross-docking) will already include the required weight pictograms.
The label changes will be implemented by 30 March 2025. During this transition period, DPD Germany will carry out a manual labelling for weight evidence.
Euroexpress circuit
Our partner GEL will manually label with the weight sticker all packages that exceed the indicated weight limits.
The customer remains responsible for entering the correct weight at the billing stage or on the bill entrusted to the courier. In case of incorrect weight, the delivery may be delayed.
